Pada kesempatan kali ini kami mendapat kepercayaan untuk mendesain rumah tinggal milik Ibu Chardamartha yang berlokasi di Prabumulih, Sumatera Selatan. Lokasi tapak pada proyek ini berada di dalam komplek perumahan dengan luas lahan 90m2 dan bertipe hook sehingga memiliki 2 arah hadap bangunan. Desain bangunan kali ini mengadopsi konsep industrial tropis dengan mempertimbangkan beberapa aspek dalam bangunan baik dari penataan ruang, penempatan bukaan, bentuk bangunan maupun pemilihan material yang akan digunakan.
Rumah ini memiliki 2 lantai dan rooftop. Rumah ini terdiri dari sejumlah ruang-ruang yang sederhana yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan sang klien, lantai 1 bersifat semi publik yang dapat digunakan sang klien berserta rekan untuk melakukan kegiatan, maka dengan kebutuhan tersebut kami menerapkan konsep openplan agar ruangan menjadi luas untuk menunjang kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut, ruang tersebut diapit oleh taman outdoor dan taman indoor, taman indoor bersifat taman kering dan diatasnya terdapat void yang menembus sampai dengan lantai rooftop yang difungsikan untuk memasukan cahaya alami serta untuk mengeluarkan udara panas. ruang-ruang pada lantai 1 terdiri dari : carport, teras, ruang tamu, studio bunga, dapur bersih, kamar mandi, dan taman indoor. lantai 2 ini bersifat privat yang hanya bisa diakses oleh pemilik rumah, ruang-ruang tersebut meliputi : kamar tidur utama, kamar mandi utama, ruang keluarga dan ruang studio. Fungsi rooftop sebagai tempat tandon air dan ruang santai yang digunakan oleh pemilik rumah.
Ciri khas dari konsep industrial tropis yaitu dengan penggunaan material yang terekspose dan unfinish namun tetap rapi dalam memadupadankan penggunaan material tersebut, contoh penerapan pada bangunan ini yaitu penggunaan material roster GRC pada lantai 2 yang penataanya mengikuti bentuk atap, adanya material bata tempel yang diaplikasikan untuk menyelimuti dinding lantai 1, kemudian dinding dengan finishing acian serta penggunaan material plat besi sebagai topi-topi jendela.
Konsep tropis diterapkan untuk merespon iklim serta kondisi pada daerah tersebut. Elevasi lantai 1 ditinggikan 1 meter untuk meminimalisir air masuk kedalam bangunan ketika banjir. penerapan konsep tropis meliputi adanya bukaan-bukaan lebar yang ditempatkan disamping dan depan bangunan serta adanya skylight pada area taman indoor sehingga memaksimalkan pencahayaan dan penghawaan alami.
Pada eksterior terdapat element vegetasi berupa tanaman lee kwan yew sebagai tirai alami untuk mereduksi masuknya udara panas ke dalam bangunan. Atap bangunan menggunakan atap pelana dengan kemiringan 40 derajat untuk mendapatkan tampilan fasad yang tropis, selain itu atap pelana memudahkan aliran air hujan yang kemudian dialirkan melalui talang beton. Pagar rumah didesain cenderung masif karena pertimbangan dari kondisi eksisting yang rawan terhadap banjir kemudian agar tidak terlalu masif diaplikasikan material besi perforasi dengan permainan “sobekan” pada pagar tersebut agar tidak terlalu monoton.
On this occasion, we got the trust to design a house belonging to Mrs. Chardamartha which is located in Prabumulih, South Sumatra. The site location in this project is in a housing complex with a land area of 90m2 and is of the hook type so that it has 2 directions to the building. The design of the building this time adopted the tropical industrial concept by considering several aspects of the building, both from spatial planning, placement of openings, the shape of the building and the selection of materials to be used.
This house has 2 floors and a rooftop. This house consists of a number of simple rooms that are tailored to the needs of the client, the 1st floor is semi-public which can be used by the client and colleagues to carry out activities, so with these needs we apply the open plan concept so that the room becomes spacious to support activities The space is flanked by an outdoor garden and an indoor garden, the indoor garden is a dry garden and above it there is a void that penetrates to the rooftop floor which is used to enter natural light and to release hot air. The rooms on the 1st floor consist of: carport, terrace, living room, flower studio, clean kitchen, bathroom, and indoor garden. This 2nd floor is private which can only be accessed by the owner of the house, these spaces include: master bedroom, master bathroom, family room and studio room. The rooftop functions as a water reservoir and a relaxing room used by homeowners.
The hallmark of the tropical industrial concept is the use of exposed and unfinished materials but still neat in mixing and matching the use of these materials, an example of the application in this building is the use of GRC roster material on the 2nd floor whose arrangement follows the shape of the roof, the presence of pasted brick material that is applied to cover 1st floor walls, then walls with lacquered finishing and the use of iron plate material as window caps.
The tropical concept is applied to respond to the climate and conditions in the area. The elevation of the 1st floor is raised by 1 meter to minimize water entering the building when it floods. The application of the tropical concept includes wide openings placed beside and in front of the building as well as skylights in the indoor garden area so as to maximize natural lighting and ventilation.
On the exterior there are vegetation elements in the form of lee kwan yew plants as natural curtains to reduce the entry of hot air into the building. The roof of the building uses a gable roof with a slope of 40 degrees to get a tropical facade appearance, besides that the gable roof facilitates the flow of rainwater which is then channeled through concrete gutters. The fence of the house is designed to tend to be massive because of the consideration of the existing conditions that are prone to flooding, so that it is not too massive, perforated iron material is applied with a “tear” game on the fence so that it is not too monotonous.
