Rumah Bapak Alfin dengan konsep Kontemporer
Pada kesempatan kali ini kami dipercaya untuk mendesain Ruko milik bapak Alfien yang berlokasi di Bumiayu, Brebes, Jawa Tengah. Proyek ini merupakan proyek renovasi dengan kondisi eksisting berupa ruko 1 lantai. Proyek kali ini berada dikawasan pemukiman yang cukup padat dengan luas lahan 109 m2 dan menghadap ke jalan utama. Rumah toko ini memiliki 3 lantai yang mana lantai 1 berfungsi sebagai toko, lalu lantai 2 dan 3 berfungsi sebagai hunian.
Arahan pertama klien dalam mendesain ruko ini yaitu tetap mempertahankan dinding eksisting yang saat proses desain berfungsi sebagai toko. Kami menambahkan sistem struktur bangunan untuk menunjang bangunan 3 lantai. Klien memiliki kebutuhan ruang pada hunian ini meliputi, Lantai 2 : Ruang keluarga, ruang makan dan dapur, kamar tidur utama, kamar mandi utama, 2 kamar anak dan kamar mandi anak. Lantai 3 : kamar tamu, ruang keluarga, studio musik, kamar mandi, ruang cuci jemur dan balkon. Akses menuju tiap lantai menggunakan tangga, pada area tangga terdapat void yang diatapi dengan atap transparan (skylight). Fungsi skylight yaitu untuk memasukan cahaya alami kedalam ruang-ruang inti dan mengeluarkan udara panas melalui celah-celah rangka skylight. Pertimbangan menggunakan skylight dikarenakan posisi bangunan sudah berdekatan dengan rumah-rumah tetangga sehingga tidak memungkinkan adanya bukaan jendela.
Desain fasad pada bangunan ini mengadopsi konsep kontemporer. Ciri khas penerapan konsep kontemporer yaitu dengan menerapkan bukaan yang besar sehingga cahaya alami dapat masuk kedalam ruang. Namun dalam konteks proyek ini kami coba memasukan unsur shading untuk mereduksi panas matahari saat sore mengingat arah hadap bangunan ini mengarah ke barat. Pada lantai 2 terdapat shading dari elemen vegetasi berupa tanaman lee kwan yew sebagai tirai alami kemudian pada lantai 3 terdapat shading berupa kisi-kisi kayu. Selain sebagai shading, kisi-kisi kayu juga berfungsi untuk menyembunyikan outdoor AC yang dapat menggangu tampilan fasad.
Pallete warna pada konsep kontemporer berupa warna-warna netral, elemen material alam seperti kayu sebagai selubung bangunan. Kami menerapkan pallete material pada bangunan ini berupa warna putih yang dikombinasikan dengan warna coklat dari unsur kayu dan warna grey dari acian ekspos.
Atap bangunan didesain miring ke arah belakang dengan kemiringan 5 derajat. Pada area belakang terdapat talang dak beton yang berfungsi untuk meletakan tandon air dan berfungsi untuk akses maintenance area atap. Material penutup atap menggunakan atap spandek yang berbentuk lembaran sehingga cocok diterapkan pada desain atap dengan kemiringan landai karena memiliki sambungan yang cukup rapat.
Pagar rumah toko didesain dengan ketinggian 2 meter dengan menggunakan bahan besi expanded dan rangka hollow. Pertimbangan menggunakan material besi expanded yaitu agar pagar tidak tampil masif dan menimbulkan kesan tertutup pada bangunan. Kanopi berfungsi untuk menanguni area parkir kendaraan, material penutup atap mengunakan bahan solartuff agar cahaya dapat masuk ke area parkir dan merefleksikan ke dalam area toko. Untuk meminimalisir panas karena penggunaan atap transparan kami menerapkan kisi-kisi kayu untuk mereduksi panas dan cahaya matahari yang berlebih.
Mr. Alfin’s House with a Contemporary Concept
On this occasion, we were entrusted with designing a shop owned by Mr. Alfien, which is located in Bumiayu, Brebes, Central Java. This project is a renovation project with the existing condition of a 1-floor shophouse. This time the project is located in a fairly dense residential area with a land area of 109 m2 and facing the main road. This shop house has 3 floors where the 1st floor functions as a shop, then the 2nd and 3rd floors function as a residence.
The client’s first direction in designing this shop is to maintain the existing wall which during the design process functions as a shop. We added a building structure system to support a 3-storey building. The client has space requirements in this residence including, 2nd Floor: Family room, dining room and kitchen, master bedroom, main bathroom, 2 children’s rooms and a children’s bathroom. 3rd floor : living room, family room, music studio, bathroom, laundry room and balcony. Access to each floor is using a ladder, in the stairwell there is a void that is topped with a transparent roof (skylight). The function of the skylight is to enter natural light into the core rooms and expel hot air through the gaps in the skylight frame. The consideration of using skylights is because the position of the building is close to neighboring houses so that there are no window openings.
The facade design of this building adopts a contemporary concept. The hallmark of applying contemporary concepts is by applying large openings so that natural light can enter the space. However, in the context of this project we are trying to include elements of shading to reduce the sun’s heat in the afternoon considering that the building is facing west. On the 2nd floor there is shading from vegetation elements in the form of lee kwan yew plants as natural curtains then on the 3rd floor there is shading in the form of wooden latticework. Aside from being a shading, the wooden latticework also serves to hide the outdoor AC which can disturb the appearance of the facade.
The color palette in the contemporary concept is in the form of neutral colors, natural material elements such as wood as a building envelope. We apply a material palette in this building in the form of white color combined with brown color from wood elements and gray color from exposed plaster.
The roof of the building is designed to tilt backwards with a slope of 5 degrees. In the rear area there is a non-concrete gutter which functions to place a water reservoir and serves as access to the maintenance of the roof area. The roof covering material uses spandex roofing in the form of sheets so it is suitable for roof designs with a gentle slope because it has a fairly tight connection.
The shop house fence is designed with a height of 2 meters using expanded iron and hollow frames. The consideration of using expanded iron material is so that the fence does not appear massive and creates a closed impression on the building. The canopy functions to cover the vehicle parking area, the roof covering material uses solartuff so that light can enter the parking area and reflect into the shop area. To minimize heat due to the use of transparent roofs we apply wooden latticework to reduce excess heat and sunlight.
